The Heaven Inspired Stage Company (H.I.S. Company) just completed its first year. Look back and celebrate with us.
The curtain was raised (as was the bar for standards) with the opening production of QUILTERS coinciding with the annual International Quilters Convention in Houston. Over 500 quilters from all over the world, including Japan, Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA, were brought on bus to the performances. Several local and state dignitaries were also on hand. Reviews from the audience were outstanding.
The ever-popular Christmas comedy show featuring our resident comedy team LAFF, INC. featured original skits and music to provide laughter and a new look at the message of the season.
The March production brought to the stage the work of one of Broadway’s most successful playwrights, Neil Simon. Featuring a talented and tight ensemble of actors with the skillful hands of a guest director, THE SUNSHINE BOYS brought down the house with its quick-hitting one-liners.
Ending the season of main stage shows was a rousing toe-tapping sing-along production of SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN. Gospel music in the bluegrass style with a hilarious and moving script brought down the curtain on a very high note.
Sprinkled in were appearances in the Tomball parade, a fund raiser for the Haiti Relief effort, a Chick-fil-A night and for several organizations’ luncheon meetings.
What a year, Praise the Lord.
